Can never get enough of this place. Whatever diet you are on? You will fall off whatever wagon that may be the second you walk in and smell the epic grill, hear it sizzling, then feel and sense the amazing atmosphere. Then the sin starts. Every diet mantra in your mind will say "Don't do it!". But like the bug on "A bugs Life" that fly's uncontrollably into the bug zapper to his amazing death when he says "I can't help it!". Just be like that bug. No pretenses, no inhibitions....just give in to the desire and fly straight into the death of your diet. Three ways. Hard. Fast. And CONTINUOUSLY! Do a face plant 14 times into this food, forget about your etiquette, forget about who may see you that you may possible know, just unleash the meat eating beast that you know is deep inside and waiting to get out and possibly cause someone else bodily harm. That's all behind you now. This is it. Your moment. Death to the diet! You can do it! :) Bottom line? This place is amazing. Was there last night for my wife and I's 29th anniversary. We love this place! Will be back fore sure! The END!
I just brought my Aunt & Uncle from out of town in for a delectable dinner of amazing seafood (king crab and halibut) and you guys delivered yet another outstanding experience! Service is always top notch and your food never disappoints! Even the cooks said good night Simons is my #1 spot for any and all celebrating.
We were never really super impressed with our trips to Simon & Seafort's. I think it may be a regional problem, though. Being from the Gulf Coast were used to very flavorful seafood, and the seasoning seems to be less than we're accustomed to.
The only thing keeping this restaurant from a perfect score in my mind is their inability to handle their busy times efficiently. I was lucky and able to find a spot in the bar because the restaurant was packed. It's not even tourist season yet. The halibut cheeks were some of the best I've ever had and the rest of the meal did not disappoint.
I'm not sure if they know it, but their French Onion Soup is among the best in North America. A group of ours have been testing soups around the continent. Innocently at first now it's gotten more serious.
Broth: excellent flavour, deep rich, sweetness is balanced
Onions: thin and properly prepared
Crustini: the only fault in the soup. A bit big. Not toasted enough
Cheese: plenty of cheese, not too thick, type of cheese could use more bite, browned properly by the broiler
Portion: Large
Good service as well.
Thank you
Open faced crab sandwich is a must have. The key lime pie was better then my mom made back home in Florida. Sorry... Calamari was fresh and the dipping sauce was spicy. I had the elderflower drink which I would 100% get again. Best wait service in town.
Rock Salt Roasted Prime Rib*. Wife and I go their for the Prime on our Anniversary. Always excellent food
Delicious. I love their appetizer sampler and the french onion soup is the best in town.
Kinda spendy but worth it. Best and most perfectly cooked scallops I've ever eaten. And the creme brûlée is to die for! Love coming here at sunset, as it shows me how lucky I am to live in this beautiful place.
Good Service Good Food. Simon & Seaforts will not blow you away. But it is a very friendly, upscale restaurant, that hits all the notes it should. It's menu is varied without being an encyclopedia. It uses local ingredients whenever possible. The food is balanced, with sizable portions, and plated beautifully. The waitstaff is well trained and very attentive. A good bet for an upscale meal downtown.
Really cool setting with a nice view. Dining experience was a positive one. Needs to be on your short list for a special dinner out
Best burger I have ever had...not so much on clam chowder
