Review Duane's Ono Char-burger - Anahola

This has got to be one of the best burger places ever. If you are gonna head to the North Shore keep your appetite and stop roadside in Anahola for one of these burgers. They are delicious. You can take the food to go or sit outside on picnic tables and enjoy!!! Yummy!!!

Super good food. I got the local girl. My husband got the local boy. We split some fries and onion rings. The burgers were delicious and so were the sides. We got eaten by mosquitos while dining at the tables on the side of the food shack so wear big repellant or take your food to go. Also the road is very close and loud so the atmosphere isn’t spectacular, but the food was delicious.

Great burger stand! They were friendly. Not a lot of parking. But we managed. If you are a clean freak, maybe think twice. Maybe. But if you are normal the place is great. Got the local boy. It didn’t disappoint. Wife got the local girl. Has Swiss instead of cheddar. Fries yes. Onion rings also yes. They don’t fall apart when you eat them. I approve. Typical pack of chickens joined us for lunch.

Very tasty burgers. We are there today with the fam. A little slow but they are worth the wait. The chocolate shake was one of the best I've ever had. Convenient location right off the highway.

This little gem of a place is worth the stop. My husband and I were camped at Anahola Beach Park (see my other reviews) and we were STARVING. We had been backpacking so this was the closest food for miles without having to bus. Our first time we both had double patty burgers on gluten free buns, fries with homemade teriyaki mayo, and the delicious Merion (spelling?) berry milkshake. Everything was spot on delicious. We loved it so much we stopped a second time as our "last supper" on Kauai. Tom, the owner, is a beauty and very friendly and fun to talk to. Highly recommend sitting at the picnic tables and enjoying a classic burger joint dining experience.

Amazing burgers with great service. Atmosphere was a bit loud because of the road construction and traffic but otherwise fabulous.

A good burger stand. The owner is local originally from the US east coast. Friendly. Avocado burger was full of veggies, a tasty patty. The portion size is for 1 person. Not those oversized 1.5-2 person meals. Fish and chips were also tasty. Both adults left full and ready to travel after this. One thing is that there were some wild chicken roaming around, and you either hide in the car, or don't leave your food unattended.

Truly a cheeseburger in paradise. This place has remained consistent for decades. Fresh ingredients and fast service. Great menu selections.

Burgers were great! Chicken sandwich and onion rings missed the mark for me, just not great flavor. Still worth a trip though for sure.

Best burgers on the island. Been coming here for 20 yrs. Everytime I'm in Kauaii this is a must have. Try the Local Boy burger grab some fries add their seasoning and enjoy a fantastic meal.

These are the BEST burgers on the island hands down. Now listen, we have been coming to this place since 2007 and loved their burgers and always stopped here on our drives. We heard it closed during the pandemic, but we were happy to see it thriving on our recent trip this summer. Needless to say the new owner, who we met, was so friendly and told us the story of his family buying the business from the previous owners and kept the menu true to what it was before. And honestly my whole family agreed the burgers taste BETTER than what we had before the pandemic. We are back in the mainland now but I wish I could have one now. If you are in Kauai make sure to stop by!

Delicious burgers, onion rings, and fish and chips! Was surprised to read bad reviews regarding price. For some perspective, food suppliers nationwide have raised their prices and accordingly restaurants need to adjust their prices to stay alive. Most food establishments profit margins are between 10-15% after all the food cost and labor that goes into making a single item. So if you want cheap burgers and fries go to McDonald’s, not here. Here, everything is made fresh and is scrumptious. This is a small business owned by kind folks and with the new prices comes a continued promise of high quality and friendly hospitality. My wife and I ordered a burger and found ourselves ordering another one after our first bite. The onion rings are some of the best I’ve ever had. My 1-2 combo on this island is Duane’s then acai right across the street at Kalalea Juice Hale.

Not going to lie, this was one of my most favorite burgers I've ever had. I don't know if it's that I love teriyaki burgers as this was my first one, but my patty itself was cooked exactly how I liked. The onion rings were also excellent.

Fun little stop on a quiet Hawaiian road. This little burger shop is a great find. We had amazingly good burgers for a very reasonable price. Worth the stop if you find yourself in the area. Beware of chickens trying to steal you food!
