Amazing experience! Service was the best. Our waitress could have sold me just about anything she wanted, cuz I knew it was all going to be delicious.
Celebrated a birthday dinner here recently.
Amazing service and food.
The daily special board is brought to each table and explained before ordering.
They have a decent wine and cocktail menu, and were helpful in suggesting pairings with food.
The service was personable and efficient (even when busy).
I ordered the Halibut Piccata, which was delicious. Generous portions. For dessert, I picked the tiramisu, delicious.
If you’re in Anacortes, don’t miss out. They’re open for dinner.
It was really good. The special menu is very special and we both ordered off of it. The owner greets you in Italian. But he corrected staff in from of customers, which i find uncomfortable. The cannoli was one of the best I’ve had and the macchiato was pretty good. Hubs said the tiramisu was really good. Food was hot and yummy!
I've been here a couple times now and this place does not disappoint! I recommend calling for reservations as it fills up quickly. The menu is a combination of classic Italian fixtures like Rigatoni Bolognese or Chicken Parmesan mixed with their daily specials which are all over the board with many options for surf or turf. All the pasta is house made and they have GF pasta if that's what you need. The service is very solid and they make you feel like you're with family. The food is made from the heart and is delicious. They also have a decent Italian wine selection and a full bar. Definitely the best Italian in the Skagit Valley. Highly recommended.
This is our first time here and we loved it! The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious! Our table had the homemade gnocchi and spaghetti with meatballs - truly amazing. The service was really good and the manager (maybe owner) was pure entertainment. We highly recommend and will eat here every time we come back to town.
Do you need reservations? Yes. Is it spendy? Yes. If you stop reading there, this place isn't for you. I have ate several places since moving to Washington many, many years ago. And this, by far, is the absolute best restaurant I have been to in the whole state, if not in my whole life. Every single morsel that came to our table was layered with fresh, complex flavors. Our party of 5 were passing forks, plates, & rave reviews of each new bite. Bruschetta? Something so simple has zero business being THAT GOOD! Nor were they greedy with the amout of toppings either. I honestly can't tell you the name of my dish. For one it was a special. For another, I honestly couldn't pronounce it. I can tell you it was $50. Again, there are cheaper options, but if this again stops you there, this place may not be for you. It was a round pasta in crab, lobster bisque with a seafood medley. Scallops were thicck (2Cs, no mistake), clams were few, good amount of seafood over all. With muscles, clams, even calamari. Do I recommend it? Have you ever had food so good, you actually have to close your eyes & hold those flavors on your tongue? No? How about flavors so good, so beautiful that your mouth waters while you are chewing it? This was that meal. This while restaurant was. Over 5 dishes came to our table. From high dollar specials (more than my plate, to the humble & grateful $8 Bruschetta.) To the free bread. It was all amazing & worth the price. My husband had a pork special that was so amazing with mushrooms that was so tender a knife never came out. It was what I could only describe as the beefiest pork I've ever had, & I don't mean bulk. You can actually pick out specific flavors. It was all just... wow! I see why they are so busy & highly recommend. At 5:30pm on a Saturday they were packed. A lovely lady played wonderful skilled music. The owner was so sweet & funny to guests. The staff down to the servers, & cleaners were amazing. Our waitress Jessica KushKush a sweetheart & awesome about answering all our questions, & we had a lot! Was funny, professional, but still remained light-hearted. The chef was super friendly & approached us a few times to talk of our meals, travels, & love of style. Not in any way that was lingering with any staff either. The whole evening was just wonderful. Would definitely recommend & be back as a treat. You can dress up or down, which was honestly a bit cool. You never felt too good or not good enough here. You just felt, welcome. And yes, no food pics. It was love at first bite & we never thought about pictures.
Wow! We walked in and immediately felt so welcome and almost like family. The service was beyond excellent. We were constantly checked on and pampered. A HUGE shout out to, Adam, he made our night so special. He knew every dish and explained everything so well that we almost ordered one of each. The food was AMAZING, and the menu is authentic and unique with lots of specials to choose from. It is quite a drive for us to get there, but this will be a regular for us. The drive is more than worth it. If you are looking for authentic Italian with a warm and inviting atmosphere, look no further!
This was honestly the best Italian food that I have ever had the opportunity to stuff my face with, everything about the meal was absolutely amazing. We had a real, lit, candlestick at the table and the service was amazing, as soon as the first candle went out, a new one was brought to the table. The bruschetta was fresh and delicious, the bread was freshly baked and the olive oil was good quality. I got the pancetta tortellini, let me just say, it was probably the best meal I've ever eaten. The lasagna was also made correctly and quite good. The tiramisu was to die for, as well as the lemon marscapone cake and the cannoli.
We had a great evening dining here. The environment was fun, and the food was great. Highly recommend if you're in the area. It's even worth a drive.
The absolute best, most authentic Italian food I've ever had!! Well worth the over hour drive to get there. My hubby and I went for date night in January, Valentine's Day in February, and going back for his birthday in March. We took my mom with for Valentine's Day, and now I don't think we'll be able to go back to just the two of us ever again 😆
The only item we've tried of the menu was the Pollo Ai Pinoli and it was amazing! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the flavor and seasoning were on point, and the little crunch of the pine nuts gave it that little extra oomph, to create a party in my mouth. Everything else we've ordered has been of the specials board and believe me they've all been special!!
We never order dessert from anywhere, usually because we're too full, lol. When we leave Nonna's we always leave with leftovers and two deserts for each of us!! I'd tell you which one is the best but honestly, I really don't think I could choose. The tiramasu, the canollis, profiteroles, and pistachio cheese cake are our favorites!!
This place is a hidden gem! The food was outstanding. It is the best Italian food I have had outside NYC. The service was great. Our server checked in enough to ensure we were OK but we never felt hurried or pushed. Did I mention the food. Amazing! I have nothing but glowing accolades for this amazing restaurant!
The food was incredible! The employees were amazing. They were so busy and didn't miss a beat. We were seated at the bar and had view of the kitchen. They didn't have an empty burner the entire time we were there. The husband as well as the guest next to me (who said she was up here house shopping form CA) said it perfectly, "it's like a dinner show".
I work about a block away and every evening I come outside of work I can smell the food cooking. It smells delicious and makes everyone hungry at work. I am sad it took 2 years to finally try it and we will definitely be back!
Your dinner is held at a romantic, candle light, linen draped table with live accordion music serenading the establishment throughout the meal. Service is out of this world. Astronomical! The food is deliciously hunger quenching. I highly suggest eating off the chefs menu for an explosion of flavors that will dance across your taste buds. The cocktails were fabulous and I recommend the chocolate cream martini...or two!! Don't pass up the dessert menu and snag a little treat before you leave. I will love revisiting Nonna Luisa Ristorante very soon!
Very cute mom & pop style restaurant and the food was good. This was our first time here and I’m sure we’ll be back. I had the veal bolognese and my husband had the shrimp ravioli in an Alfredo sauce. The fresh baked bread was delicious and we ate it before I could get a picture. Thanks for the experience and good food, Nonna Luisa!
The best Italian food outside of Italy, and better than most in Italy. The owner’s dad is Italian, a chef for over 40 years. He helps his kids. Wonderful guy. The burrata appetizer was unbelievably good. The cannelloni was to die for and matched their delicious Barbero. My daughter loved the gnocchi. Their balsamic and olive oil come directly from Italy - delicious. The tiramisu is out of this world. The staff is extremely friendly and they clearly enjoy working there.
If you have time, chatting about Italy, Ferrari and F1 with the owner is worth it.
I cannot recommend the place enough. 10 stars out 5!
It's a very lively place!! You'll need a reservation here to say the least. But last Sunday didn't have one ! They still had open seating n tables at Bar.
Crowded , Noisy inside. They'll Read off a full black board menu to your table or Bar seat, with all the menu specials .
*** Calamari in white wine olive oil sauce. Antipasto salad. Both fantastic.
I think they could use another Room or Enlarge this space. Many people work here in this Resturant and I wouldn't be surprised if they expanded Room/ looks need larger kitchen.
I honestly cannot say enough nice things about Nonna's. Between the ambiance, the amazing food and the service this is mine & my husbands go to for EVERY date night. I've even started taking my kids on dates there because they love the authentic Italian food. Thank you for always giving me a full stomach when I leave and for giving us the feeling of being in Italy for an hour or so. Can't wait until we see you again!
My husband and I have heard about this place for quite some time now. Our anniversary was approaching, so we made reservations here.
For starters, my husband is a food critic unlike anyone I've ever met. He has high expectations, being an extremely talented cook himself.
As soon as we arrived, we were taken to our table. A candle was lit upon seating, and we were given fresh bread to enjoy. There was high quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. The table cloths and napkins were thick and luxurious. All around, it was lovely.
We ordered our appetizer, which was baked eggplant with sauce and cheese. I cannot remember what it was called, but the sauce was very obviously home made and delicious. My husband ordered the veal parm and I ordered the crab stuffed prawns - WOW. Not only was the presentation immaculate, but the flavors were out of this world. We were both highly impressed.
Our server, Maria, was wonderful. She was very responsive, informative, prompt, and jovial. She was a delight the entire time. The entire staff was warm and welcoming.
We had plenty of leftovers for another dinner between the appetizer and our entrees. We didn't have enough room for dessert, but the pistachio cheesecake looked divine.
This is a place that we look forward to returning to. We have plans to return within the next couple weeks. I have a feeling this will be heavy in rotation when it comes to eating out.
10/10
