Review El Potrillo Mexican Restaurant - Alpharetta

Service was extremely poor, the server literally jus asked do you want something to drink, are you ready to order, as we sat down 😕🤨it was like he didn't want to be there. The food was good came out in a timely manner and the drinks where superb.

I dined there earlier in the month. The food was mediocre. The chips tasted stale and rancid. The cheese dip arrived lukewarm. The service was markedly inattentive. The most disconcerting part of the dining experience occurred when a woman approached the table carrying a roll of raffle tickets and a purse. She asked me if I wanted to purchase a raffle ticket to help out a friend of hers who had cancer. The woman said the raffle tickets were $30.00 each. She also showed me what was supposedly a receipt for the purse. The receipt indicated the value of the purse was in excess of $3,000.00 dollars. The woman could not tell me how many tickets remained to be sold or the date the winning raffle ticket would be drawn. I was skeptical of the entire thing so I politely declined to purchase a ticket. The woman solicited someone at another table who apparently purchased a ticket. I didn't know if the raffle was on the up and up so I checked to see if the restaurant had a permit to conduct a raffle. I found no evidence of a required permit. I still don't know what to make of all this.

My boyfriend and I eat out at least 3 times a week and we have, by proxy, have become staunch food critics. We are both consistently impressed with this place. We share the fajitas for two and the food to dollar spent ratio is one of the best of any we have experienced. Oh, not to mention, it’s delicious 🤤

Have to give a mixed review, the food was good, severed fast, but the cleanliness of the place was atrocious... Floors were sticky the bathroom reeked of urine, with the floor covered in it. It has just opened so they couldn't blame a customer.

Sr Fuentes, from, Guadalajara, Mexico, owns, El Potrillo. Exceptionally good food ! The rations are king size, and I kid you not ! (At, Mr. FUENTES' suggestion, he open up the idea to tell the waiter to split any order into two rations, so we could finish the entire order in one sitting. We are going back, tomorrow !

Everything was good I used to really enjoy everything there but now it's more about quantity instead of quality now. It had been along time since I have had a chance to go back into El Potrillo I used to go at least twice a month and the food,drinks, and service was great but now it's just good. Definitely not worth me spending the little money I have and I hardly ever get out of my house. So I wish I would have taken the time to go somewhere I would have really enjoyed one of the few times a year I get out now. Next time I'll keep heading towards 400 till I get to my favorite little spot. T.T.

The taste of the food was good but the take out order was not. The food was cold; I had to re-warm it when I got home, although it was picked up in less than 10 minutes from the time the food was ordered. The lemonade tastes like water and they forgot to add my side order but it’s on the receipt. After warming up the food it didn’t taste good. I called the manager back as he told me to do and he apologized and offered for me to return for another order. The follow up to the story is that I went back to the restaurant and the manager did not honor what he told me over phone. He was rude and nasty, telling his employees he told me to bring back the food; when in fact he told me to take pictures of the food. Now he said he didn’t want to see any pictures. I offered to go back home to get the food, which was in the trash, and he refused that too. On top of that he had me sitting waiting forever and was not able to tell me when the new order would be ready. He also refused giving me a refund. Him and his staff are rude, nasty, and unprofessional. I will never go back to that restaurant again. I ended up leaving because at that point I wouldn’t trust them making my food.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! The El Potrillo dip is fantastic. Great service, great atmosphere, great food!

This is one of the best restaurants I know!!! Food is delicious, drinks are on point (loaded and really tasty!!!)and the service is more then awesome!!! This spot rocks!!! I am coming here more then 10 years almost every weekend.... I say almost every weekend because I live about 45 mins far and sometimes I just can make it, but if I would live closer I know I would be there no every weekend but everyday 3 times a day ... ��� I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!!

I keep wondering why it took me so long to try this place! We were bored with our regular places and stopped in~ So glad we did! The food was amazing and the service is just as good. I highly recommend El Potrillo

We've been coming here since my husband moved to Alpharetta, before we were married, in 2010. It was a good restaurant then, it is a GREAT restaurant now! The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and I think it improves every time we go. When anyone from out of town comes to visit, we take them here. It really is the best!!

Bad food. Can't stay off the toilet from being sick, because of the food from this restaurant.

I haven't eaten here in many years I went back this week with my wife and had the most wonderful Mexican dinner I have had in at least 10 years the portions are enormous the quality is excellent and the service was very good look forward to coming back again

My favorite Mexican restaurant ever! I keep trying others, and I keep going back to El Potrillo. Their food is consistently delicious. The guacamole is the freshest and most authentic around. This restaurant just can't be beat!

This our local Mexican restaurant my husband and I like to go. The people are so friendly and food is great! We just our granddaughter there for her 8th birthday, and she absolutely loved it. They made her feel super special. Thank you everyone for another great time there.

I hesitate to write a glowing review. Not that the food and service aren't excellent (which they are) but I don't want the place to become so popular that it's always packed and we can't get in. Their tamales are THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!

see my review. Customers for years. WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! Nutshell, 1st time visiting trash was making people walk a straight line on the way out!. I passed with flying colors but was harassed. I went back in to talk to owner. Owner did not do the right thing of throwing out the trash. We will miss Ricardo, Frederico, and others.SO SAD BUT NEVER AGAIN!!!! SHAME SHAME SHAME

Worst mexican food ever!!! Do not spend your time and money in this place!! Food is crap.,drinks are crap...service is crap...atmosphere is crap... Yes.,in their defense i do not usually frequent this kind of restaurants but i do love food and a good drink not to mention i sure do appreciate a good service to wich i like to propertly tip afterwards. To that.,i have to say the didn't t earn by any means one. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND this place to anybody unless is somebody I don't like or would want to play a prank on. I have to say that i don't usually like to write bad reviews but instead i just wont visit the place again bit in this case i felt the need to warn people about this. Thay should really chanhe the name of tha place to SEWER MEXICAN CRAP cause that is all you are going to get there but in the case you like really bad food this should be you cup of tea.
