Nice place and good ambience. Staff is nice too and attentive. This is kind of place you would like to go for enjoyment. It's a very lively place. Do try chicken wings and their platter combinations.
Such a consistent place, both food and quality of wait staff. The BBQ & sauce are excellent, and the side dishes have that homemade on Thanksgiving feel to them. Ask for the burnt end brisket...similar to KC style. Hidden gem are THE BEST wings in all of Atlanta, bar none. Another hidden gem is the bologna sandwich, but when ordering, ask them to lay off the cheese a bit.
Bring your own sauce. The pork and brisket are better than the average bbq restaurant, and the sides are tasty. The staff is uncommonly friendly. But the sauce . . .
I don't think it could be any worse if a pre-K class had come up with the recipe. There is a pasty honey mustard concoction and an equally pasty ketchup-like offering. Both sauces are very different from any sauces I've ever tasted anywhere, anytime, and they aren't barbecue sauces by any standard.
If you give Cue a try, bring your own sauce or just go without. But DON'T ruin the meats with the house sauces. You'll be sorry!
It's Okay. This is one of the better BBQ in the area. Not a lot of competition mind you, but all in all it’s okay. The one thing is the owner just flat out can not make BBQ sauce. The red sauce maybe the worst thing I’ve ever eaten when it comes to BBQ sauce. Being from KC sauce is important and this is BAD!! So bad, we always bring our own. The service is usually good, but as of late the bread seems a little old. It’s worth a try. BBQ is a funny thing, everyone likes something different and you might even start a fight talking about. bbq. Cue is worth seeing if you like it...just bring your own sauce for a back up plan!
I had the wings and they are very good. Taste smoked, rubbed with some season salt and fried. I liked them a lot! In my opinion the sausage and the bread are the two best things to eat here. You can't get anything like them anywhere else.
Beyond awesome, the whole meal was great. I had the ribs with collards and sweet potatoe casserole. The bananas doster was too good! I recommend 'cue to anyone who wants good food.
I love this place!. We read an article about this place a couple/few years back and it has been our favorite BBQ "joint" ever since. I would consider my family to be BBQ snobs, and 'Cue is numero uno on our list. The owners and service staff are wonderful. They also just built a new addition to the restaurant which is awesome! Great fresh sides, to die for desserts, fall off the bone bbq, and suh-weet service! Bravo 'Cue! We love you!
I have eaten at 'Cue too many times to count! This place is awesome! Great food, great service, huge portions and a big screen TV that's always on a sports channel! I haven't yet been there to see the live entertainment that 'Cue provides...but have no doubt that it's as good as all else that this restaurant offers. Oh, and if you're a fan of potato salad? Don't miss their deviled egg potato salad. It's amazing.
Some of the best food in the area! Huge portions and all food is home made. The kids loved it too!
Perfecting the little things. Took the family with my bros family to Que BBQ. Its some of the best bbq I have ever had. I had the chicken and chopped pork. Both were perfect without the sauce. They have 3 different sauces to choose from. I went with the KC red sauce. It was quite good. Brunswick stew was good. Collard greens were perfectly flavored. We had the sausage and kraut app. It was great. This was the best kraut I ever had. Perfect smokey flavor. The pickled jalapenos were awesome. We had a great server named "HART". She knew her stuff and recommended a fantastic beer. Our dinner was perfect from start to finish. Thanks very much.
Overall Grade A
'Cue...The Bad and The Good. First the Bad...I first visited 'Cue in the Cumming location on a whim. The decor of the Cumming location was spot on! It was just enough nice with rustic BBQ to be unique and enjoyable. The sides at the Cumming location were perfect, but that should not be a surprise considering these are the guys that started Swallow in the Hallow (or so I have heard)!! The main dish, ribs in my case were not that good though. I felt that they lacked smoke flavor. I was a little disappointed....BUT....
Now the Good...I went to the Milton location yesterday. I figured again, since these are the same guys that started Swallow, I should give them another shot. The Milton location is closer to the house so we packed up the car with kids and we were off for a Father's Day dinner. Although I liked the decor of the Cumming location much more, the ribs at the Milton location were perfect! Smoke flavor, just enough sauce on them that you got your fingers sticky and the just barely gripped the rib bone...that all spells perfect! The sides as usual were great! Mac and Cheese is a must! I also had collards and then split a Deviled Egg Potato Salad. All very good and highly recommended!
I will certainly go back to the Milton location. The Cumming location, although very nice to look at, was not that good to eat at.
Wow Wow Wow. This place is what BBQ is all about. The smoked pork sandwich is the real deal and I love their tomato based (thick red) BBQ sauce. Sweet potatoes, mac&Cheese were both amazing. They also do a Squash on the side that's to die for. Every time I visit the Atlanta area, I make the trip to Alpharetta to grab my Cue fix.
BBQ at its best!!!. Cue is by far the best BBQ in north Atlanta, and some of the best I have ever had, this coming from a former resident of Memphis. Cue's chooped pork is great, but it is their BBQ chicken that is unsurpassed, so moist and juciy. The fries with the chipotle ranch sauce are a great side.
Big hits, one miss. Tried 'Cue for the first time last night. Overall, I was really, really impressed with this little joint.
It was small, but attractive, the staff was extremely friendly, it's obviously a local favorite, the food was mostly excellent and the price was right. On top of that, almost everything (if not everything) is made in house, including the pickles! What's not to like?
As for the food itself, I had:
Fries appetizer - huge basket of perfectly cooked and seasoned, hand cut fries with a tasty homemade chipotle ranch dressing
Combo plate with brisket and homemade sausage, accompanied by deviled egg potato salad, macaroni and cheese and homemade pickles, pickled jalapeños and sauerkraut. It all had EXCELLENT flavor. The sausage was moist and exploding with flavor, the sides and pickled veggies were all outstanding and the brisket had an absolutely gorgeous smoke ring. The only downside to the plate was the brisket--although very flavorful--was almost criminally dry and tough. It was step removed from jerky, in my opinion.
There were three different sauces on the table from which to choose: Mustard-based, vinegar-based and a spicy tomato-based sauce. All three were very good, although I absolutely loved the vinegar-based sauce. I even mopped it off my plate with my toast!
I ended the meal with homemade blackberry cobbler a la mode. This was a serious food nirvana moment for me - that cobbler was probably the best I've had in years, if not ever. It was amazing!
Overall, the experience was great. With the exception of the brisket's texture (and the brisket was well smoked and full of flavor), the meal was excellent and that cobbler was incredible.
L Woods. Awesome food, great service...close to home...go there all the time
Great experience. Very different from the mainstream commercial BBQ franchises in a very good way! The BBQ is moist and tender with no scraps, skin, or fat. Ordered the combo beef brisket and pulled pork, and was very impressed with the quality and generous portion sizes. The sliced cucmber and tomato salad was fresh and very good. Added bonus, the staff is very friendly and goes out of the way to make you feel welcome.
Outstanding BBQ. Has by far surpassed Swallow at he Hollow.
Generous portions, great quality perfectly cooked meats.
Delicious sides (just wish there were some veggies for sides as well).
UPDATE: They added collards (and very good ones at that) to the regular menu and have regular daily veggies, none of which have I disliked.
Loved it!. I've been hearing about 'Cue and last night finally got a chance to try it. I'll be back for sure! I had a pork sandwich with slaw and it truly was one of the best BBQ I've ever tasted. They give you three types of sauce all of which were homemade and tasted great. I tasted the Mac and Cheese and wished I'd order of it too it was so creamy and wonderful. Owner Paul Doster really knows how to put together a tasty, fun filled experience and I can't wait until I try it again. I live in Dalton and it just might be worth the 2 hour drive again!
Delicious, small, family BBQ joint. Ribs were fall of the bone tender, pork was moist and flavorful with the BBQ sauce, bread and Brunswick stew were great. Slaw, fries, & potato salad were good but I'd expected more "deviled egg" flavor from potato salad. Also, other diners thought the sliced pork and the BBQ chicken salad were good.
Not your normal bbq. Great live music on Fri and Sat. Huge portions and everything we have had is fabulous from the homemade bread to the bbq nachos...only thing I wish they would add some real seasonal veggies versus the loaded baked potato
Good food. Great atmosphere. Service was good even though I was overcharged for something and didn't realize it until after I paid because I was dealing with my 11 month old. Would go again. Someone said it's better than Fat Matts. I have to say I disagree. Can't beat it.
LOVE THIS PLACE. I had lunch here today and it was exceptional. The sliced pork sandwich was huge and the meat was so tender and possibly when topped with their homemade sauce, the best BBQ I have ever eaten. The brunswick stew was hands down the best I have ever had. Will def be back very soon.
Great BBQ. Would have liked spare ribs instead of baby backs.Mac and cheese was creamy and fries were the best. Staff very friendly.
NOW A BBQ FAN. I have never been a BBQ fan but have been gone with friends, business folks and family to many of the "classic" joints throughout the south. CUE has changed all that. I went with a couple of clients who suggested we give it try...so I walked in expecting the same old things...boy was I surprised. I would have cleaned my plate if the portions were a bit smaller.
My wife loves BBQ and now I can take her out for BBQ and we'll both enjoy it.
The service was excellent and fast, the food was great and I left knowing I'll be coming back.
Thanks to the owners for putting CUE near my home and workplace...see you again soon!
Best BBQ in Atlanta with the friendliest wait staff!
Good Barbeque. We have eaten here a couple of times and the food is really good. I enjoy the chopped pork and the sliced brisket. The deviled potato salad is a very good side. My wife had the barbeque chicken nachos and thought they were best nachos she has ever had. Owner and staff are great.
Wow. My wife and I tried this place on a whim and based on some of the favorable reviews on Urbanspoon. Everything that we had was really good. We started with a 6 rib appetizer (actually got 7) and the ribs were really good. For the meal, my wife had the pulled pork sandwich on a homemade roll. She said it was good as well. I had the pulled pork and brisket combo platter. The pulled pork was very good but I would pass on the brisket next time. My wife had mac and cheese (awesome) and I had the Brunswick stew and deviled egg potato salad. The stew was really good and had a fair amount of meat in it. The potato salad was pretty good but the French fries the kid next to me was eating looked really good. All meals come with a side of homeade pickles that are also very tasty...almost a dill version of bread and butter pickles. Also, most of the meals are served with a piece of grilled homemade bread. Also very good. One key takeaway from our meal was that everything was fresh and HOMEMADE. I would definitely recommend this place and we will certainly be back.
This place rocks!. That Fool who suggested you try an "old joint" for barbecue, musta been smoking something, or else he just wouldn't know good barbecue if it hit him in the face. I worked as a line cook for a few years while I was in college at an old joint like the kind he suggests, and nothing this good EVER came out of that kitchen. I am usually very nervous about ordering an "outside" sliced pork sandwich, because 95 times out of 100 what you will get will either be fatty and disgusting or tough as shoe leather, but when you get it right, it is wonderful. But I had heard rave reviews about this place and decided to give it a shot. The sandwich they put on my plate was SUBLIME!
The meat was lean and tender and piled high on a home-made bread bun - and absolutely the very best barbecue pork sandwich that I have ever tasted. My girlfriend ordered the baby-back ribs and they were fantastic also - such a large portion that her leftovers fed us both later.
As a side, I ordered the beans, and they were very good - sweet, smoky and delicious, but the deviled-egg potato salad was the best of the side dishes. I'm not a big fan of Brunswick Stew, but my companion loved it.
The staff was wonderfully friendly and one of the owners came out and greeted us and talked briefly about his love of the business and how he was trying to do something authentic, but different from the same-old BBQ. The difference is how much attention to detail and quality they put into the food and service. It shows. A+++
Our new favorite barbecue - anywhere.
'Cue is the Joint!. The food rocks. The staff is very friendly. I normally don't venture beyond BBQ, which is great. The BBQ Chicken Pizza on the grill is awesome. The Pork Sausage is a treat to the tastebuds. Please don't tell anyone about the Sausage, you would see a grown man cry if they were out on one of my several weekly trips. How good is 'Cue, try 10 times in 3 weeks at 'Cue.
Good food and very pleasant wait staff. Try it. You willl like it.
OVERATED OVERATED! A attempt at botique BBQ. Give me a old joint anyday ! Nice try
Pittsburgh Slaw!!? Amazing!. I know the South is famous for the barbeque! But I have yet to be impressed with Barbeque in Atlanta until I had a platter at 'Cue! The Pittsburgh slaw was so wonderful! Homemade pickles, homemade buns.. crisp slaw, fries, 'Cue ! you can't go wrong.
Tried 'Cue based on the reviews we saw on Yelp! and Urban Spoon via my iPhone. The rib appetizer was perfect - just the right blend of spicy and smokey, and the sliced and chopped pork are as good as I've had anywhere. Match it up with the 'cue slaw and baked beans, and you've got a winner! I've found my new favorite barbeque spot in Alpharetta.
EXCELLENT. As with most things great......'Cue sits in a rather non-descript strip mall out here the nether regions of suburbia....
I went there for lunch and found everything served to be right on. I had a chopped beef brisket platter, slaw, and beans. Beef was tasty; not dry with a nice smoky taste; 'THEIR' slaw was classic in all coleslaw qualities; including fresh and cold; and the beans again were a well done staple. Oh and the homemade thick slice T-toast was great. Went a little crazy and had the daily dessert special; peach cobbler and it did not disappoint. Crispy and tender; not overly sweet bringing the natural fruit taste along nicely.
All round an excellent restaurant.
The best in town for sure, not even close. Try the bananas doster.
The Georgia Barbecue Hunt
+4.5
The friendly staff promptly greeted me and sat me at the nearest table. I was surprised to see some of my Texas favorites on their menu such as brisket and sausage.
I vividly remember my first visit to ‘Cue about a year ago. This random barbecue joint opens up shop with no fanfare in a space that had proven to be unlucky to restaurants. It didn’t take me long to figure out that they were a boutique barbecue shop. But
Really liked the food. I had a combo plate, with pork & brisket, sides were fried okra and the deviled egg potato salad, sweet tea & the apple cobbler special. My waitress was Abbie. I was greeted & seated quickly, Abbie was great, nice & quick to check & refill without hovering. The pork was really good - good flavor & moist even without sauce. Brisket was a little dry but flavor was great - I'll try it again to see, my piece had limited fat & was pretty lean. For me, what set it apart was both the meats were well salted but not salty, flavorful all the way through, not just at the surface. A lot of BBQ in the area, esp the pork, is really dry. I ate most of it sans sauce. Sauces were good, good choices & well balanced. The potato salad was a little sweet for me but fresh, well made & balanced - I'm not a sweet pickle fan , so it's really my taste not the salad. Okra was good, hand breaded and tasty. Next to the pork, the Apple Cobbler special was the best thing I had. I'm normally pretty disappointed by cobblers & pies (grandma was a damn good cook, set the bar high). This wasn't a disappointment - good solid cobbler, no canned filling, good
balance of spice & sugar, apples fully cooked, saucy but not runny, crust was nice. I'll def be back.
Great service. They were friendly and fast.
The food was so so good. I enjoy eating there.
Now I see why so many in the area are always out walking. With so many good places to eat in Alpharetta, you got to exercise just so you can eat more good food.
We stopped by today for the first time. Everything was excellent. Look at the photo. 👀 Per the wife, if you mix the spicy and regular BBQ sauces together, it unlocks magic.
This is a regular stop for us, usually 2 to 3 times a month and it never disappoints. This most recent time was no exception.
Food was all done perfectly with smoky BBQ pork, brisket nachos, and wings. The Brunswick stew is some of the best you will have and the bananas doster (signature take on bananas foster using pudding instead of ice cream) is something you should save room for.
Service was prompt and attentive and had a clean table and space. It can get busy, so going a little early or late isn't a bad idea, as parking can get tight when it gets busy...
If you haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for?
Food overall was pretty good, brisket was excellent and the beans were amazing. The sauces were great. The service was very fast (though I came at a slow time, your mileage may vary).
Outstanding local owned BBQ. The food is always fresh and served hot. The staff is 5 stars plus always ensuring that everyone has drink refills and whatever else they may need
I do highly recommend the grilled pineapple and new smoked chicken salad
It’s definitely worth a drive if you are within a 100 mile radius
Good pulled pork and you get large portions. Love the spicy bbq sauce, could be spicier though. Wish the blackberry cobbler and jalapeno rice was on the menu more.
