Reviews Milano's Pizza

Half cheese half pepperoni traditional pie. Very good. Best pizza I've had in the Pittsburgh area by far since moving here last year. Thin, great crunch, not too greasy... just how I like it. You can tell they use good quality ingredients and they for sure know how to make pizza dough. Steak and cheese wedgie. Also very good. Just slightly wetter than my liking, but the bread was still crunchy on top and the bottom. I'll absolutely be ordering from here more.

5 out of 5 slices πŸ•πŸ•πŸ•πŸ•πŸ• We moved into the area a year ago and have been slowly trying all of the pizza places. Finally made it to Milano's and it is one of the best, if not the best, depending on category. I picked up a 4-cut plain Sicilian; large w/ pepperoni, green pepper, diced tomato; and a large buffalo chicken calzone. The Sicilian was way bigger than I thought a 4-cut pizza would be. It was like the size of a large pizza you would get somewhere else. The cheese and sauce are both top tier. What really sets this pizza apart is the crust. Their Sicilian has this delightfully spongy crust that is packed with flavor but still not too heavy. The sauce and cheese embeds itself into the upper layer; it's just a perfect marriage of ingredients. The large pizza was once again top tier cheese and sauce. The toppings were fresh and flavourful. But what really makes this pizza stand out is the crust; maybe the best crust I've ever had on a pizza!! It's crunchy, but light inside. Milano's absolutely has a secret ingredient or process for their crust. Despite the Sicilian and regular pizza crusts both being very different from one another, they are still my favorite parts of each pie. Let's not forget about the Buffalo Chicken Calzone. It was killer. It was twice the size I expected it to be. It comes with ranch, but I asked for some marinara on the side as well. Normally, I dip into the marinara, but this calzone was so flavourful that I didn't even need to. I've never experienced that before, even at places with really good buffalo chicken calzones. For that reason, I can say with certainty, this was the best buffalo chicken calzone I've ever had. Just want to finish up by saying the staff were very nice and the inside the shop was clean and well organized. This definitely will be one of our go to places for pizza!

A surprisingly good pizza, pasta, and calzone spot in a low-key location! The food was quite cheap, service was pretty good, food made in a timely manner, and nice flavors. I ordered the small calzone as well as the funnel knots with caramel sauce. First off, their small calzone is not small at all. In fact, it's an excellent deal for a $12 calzone and is filled perfectly. I tried the plain cheese. There wasn't too much dough, which can often be an issue with some pizza shops. Also, there was a whole lot of cheese. Mozzarella, provolone, and ricotta I believe. The outside was crispy and the inside did not get too soggy. I also liked the tomato sauce it was served with. The food was served warm, even the sauce. A minor set back with the calzone was that it is a bit oily. Since there is a lot of cheese, expect it to be heavy and somewhat greasy. There was some lard or oil on the bottom of the calzone when I picked it up. The funnel knots came in an adequate portion for a fairly reasonable price. The dough itself is homemade, although I doubt the caramel sauce is. Still, it was a pretty tasty way to end the meal. Inside is fluffy, a little crispy on the outside (would have liked more crispiness to the dough), and you get powdered sugar with choice of chocolate or caramel dipping sauce. Overall, it's a nice neighborhood pizza joint. Not the best in Pittsburgh, but if you're looking for good pizza on Route 8, give it a shot. Calzone is good and funnel knots are as well.

This is our go-to pizza place. Consistently good quality for our family. Everything about their pie is delicious - cheese, sauce and crust. Pizza so good I can equally enjoy a slice of cheese or a loaded up slice. Thanks for so many great dinners!

This place is so so so good. The pizza was delicious. Nice crust, flavorful sauce. Good cheese. The homemade ranch was the perfect accompaniment. Also had the cheesy breadsticks. Real good. Prices were decent also. Will definitely be back!

My family and I have been Milano's customers for decades. We currently visit several times a week, ordering everything from salads to hoagies, wings, and of course their pizzas. Everything we've tried is good. Being there so often, we have gotten to know the family that owns and operates it, and have witnessed the way they do business "behind the scenes". Wouldn't it be easier to just buy Ranch dressing in bulk? Nah, they make their own. Cheese? They buy 1,000 lbs (yes, really!) in blocks every week and shred it all themselves, making their own secret blend for pizzas. It's clear to me that this is a first rate operation, as proven by their dedicated customer base, the foods they serve, and the way they treat everyone who walks through the door. A+.

Hoagie and fried raviolis were really good (despite the philly cheese steak having lettuce and tomatoes on it lol) pizza was not bad but nothing special. Cheese seemed like the kind you get on a frozen grocery store pizza. But service was nice and importantly the place was very clean and staff all wearing masks. Will give it another shot down the road.
