This is an overall good value for your money place. My sister lives in Santa Monica and this is a bit of a drive.
Their luncheon specials are very reasonable and a great selection.
They have a great tasting Xiaolongbao, 50 for $16, if you don't mind getting them frozen and cook them at home. In this current time, being able to pick up good food at a reasonable price is worth the drive.

Go Kang Kang, go! Good food, great prices. Nothing fancy, just basics. Dumplings pan fried were juicy and hot. People come here for fried fish, and I agree with people that they are worthy of a trip to this modest cafeteria style joint. Drinks were worthy, too, so try them. There is something about the servers that I need to go back to figure out why they smile when I ask them questions. P

10.02 for my order, so I gave her 11 but she never even bother give me the change back lol. In addition, I question the integrity of the "meat" in my bao. Albeit it tasted fine, the texture didn't feel like meat.

Shanghai fried mini pork bao... WOW! All the other food is amazing too... think of Chinese fast food, but with authenticity. Stuff you don't find in regular fast food places. I love it!
