Hummingbird Bar And Kitchen

It was poring this past Tuesday and we were hungry after pulling a long work day in the area. We almost walked past this place but boy were we glad we didn't. We were a party of 8 and were seated at the corner table with the best waterfront view. Service was exceptional for the area. Our waiter was friendly and helpful in both beer and food selection. I had their rabbit potpie and few of us ordered their whole brenzino fish. The food was awesome. This place is a hidden gem in the area. Go check it out!

I was warned that the food at Hummingbird was subpar but it was an acquaintance's birthday and they chose Hummingbird for Sunday brunch. I wasn't really into the Sunday brunch menu so I got a salad and asked for the dressing on the side which as you can see, didn't happen. Thousand Island dressing never tastes bad (they call it Louie dressing here) so I can't fault this salad much except to say that there was way too much dressing. The deviled eggs were absolutely meh and a waste of calories. Also the wait time between ordering, getting your drinks and food is atrocious. Definitely won't be back.

I met friends here for dinner as it was a central location for us both. We met early in hopes of beating the crowd (4:30 pm). We enjoyed appetizers and dinner, however the manager hounded us the entire time to leave due to later reservations. He asked us numerous times to leave with no regard for the fact that we were paying customers who were simply following the pace being set by his restaurant. In fact, after dinner, we actually had to request the bill which we paid upon receipt. We waited close to 10 minutes for our server to return with our credit card and once we signed, the manager appeared in a very aggressive manner inviting conflict. I as appalled and insulted. I went back in while my husband was getting the car to see what the managers name was only to notice nobody was seated at our table. When I asked him for his name, he told me it was Mason, and I didn't need to know the last name. This pretty much summed up our experience. The food was okay, our server was doing his best, but unfortunately "Mason" the manager made for a very disappointing evening. I would NOT recommend dining here to anybody.

Had a simple meal at the bar as I was on business and staying at the Indigo hotel. Had a great dirty vodka martini and a Caesar Salad and later a glass of wine. Bar filled up later and the salad was great with juicy good chicken and the bartender was very kind, and let me take what was left to finish in my room. Nice people, nice restaurant and hotel.

Yes, this is a relatively expensive restaurant. Let's get that out of the way. When the weather is good, sitting outside to eat is a very pleasant experience. I recommend the ribeye as it was tender and flavorful, and the crab and corn fritters were also very good. The drink menu is fairly creative but I asked for custom drinks and I must say that I was not disappointed. Hummingbird is definitely worth visiting and you can be assured that the drinks will be on point. I will very likely visit again as my initial experience was positive.

If you have less than two hours, don't bother. The view is beautiful, the food was good... by the time we got it which was quite a long whole after we ordered...once we even could place an order. Slowest service I have ever seen, even to get water. Added to that, we ordered cinnamon buns- the menu says 4. They brought us 3- and we were not the only ones. They corrected it when we asked, but doing that to multiple people is just shady. We will not be returning.
