Although it wasn't on the menu technically, they made my burrito a chimichanga. I think they charged $2 for that, but I still appreciated the effort.
It was about $15-18+/person for dinner, but it included guacamole salad, chips/salsa, sopapillas, unsweet tea (or Arnold Palmers upon request) and dessert too.
Beans and rice were excellent.
Shredded beef tasted fine. Needed salt.
The guac salad wasn't extravagant, but it was light and fresh (just guac on shredded lettuce with 2 tortilla chips; forgot a picture). The dessert tasted like a cinnamon bread pudding; it was natillas so basically a custard. The sopapillas were big but not as full in the middle as others I've had. Still delish. I bet the STUFFED ones would be amazing at that size.
They kept refilling our water and teas even when we said we didn't need more, but too much unsweet tea and water is better than not enough.
It was a clean place, had decent parking.
Focus here is on the food nice extensive menu you can tell this place has its regulars people walk in and the staff already knew the order will be back for sure
Visited Albuquerque for the weekend. Searched through Google for good “New Mexican” food. Found this place with great reviews, had to try it and it did not disappoint! Everything we had was delicious. Our server was awesome, very personable and courteous. Dishes are old school “New Mexican” style. Highly recommend this lil “whole in the hall” place! If Im ever back in ABQ I’ll be definitely eating here again!!
Food was very good with huge portions for a very reasonable amount. Service was fast even they were busy. Overall, I really enjoy visiting here when I come to Albuquerque. If you haven't been to Eloy's you need to put it on your to do list! P.S. try anything on the menu, it's all good!
I’ve been coming here for years. I moved away but it’s definitely one of my favorite spots to eat when I come into town. And I always make time for at least one meal here no matter how short my visit. I love their chili rellenos and sopapillas.
My car was being repaired down the street, so I happened to stop in. The food was very good. It looked like the repeat customers of this locally owned business also enjoyed the food and the small, homey atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. Sopapillas ❤️!!
This is the place for authentic Mexican cuisine. The chili reanos are fantastic, and the soppapieas are awesome! The service is great and is a pleasurable place to meet friends.
Eloy's has been open for 47 years. The food is great NM food. We had Carne adobada and beef burrito and guacamole salad. See photos. Service was good. My burrito was a bit dry, perhaps because I didn't want Chile on it.
Shredded beef salad was kind of small but pretty good nonetheless. Also, the queso dip is kind of strange. I don't think I've ever had one like it. Seems to contain chicken stock or something but I could be wrong. They did throw in a free custard which was pretty good.
We enjoyed our entire experience here, the food was delicious, my picky daughter loved the beans and the owner was friendly and talked with us a while and told us about the story behind Eloy's.. She was so nice, the waitress was nice, quick and friendly! We absolutely would go back again! The place is a little crowded but you know why when you try it!
