Jays has always been really good. Whether eat in or take out. To me, the hamburger steak is the best thing on the menu. Hush puppies are a meal in itself. Best I have ever tasted.
I recently held my fathers birthday/ retirement dinner here and it was by far the absolute best! Everything from the food to the customer service was exceptional. Even though there were a lot of us that attended this event, the staff was very accommodating to everyone's needs. It was amazing and everyone left happy.

Absolute Best dinner in Stanly County, love their Ribeyes, Vic’s entire staff is awesome, but we love some Allen Sinclair as well! You never go wrong with Jays Seafood & Jays Downtowner!!!
I had take out and the food was great. The meals were affordable as well. I will definitely return here. Thus place was also casual and you seat yourself. The variety of seafood was great too. Many choices.
First Time tonight at Jay’s Downtowner and it was Great ! It was like eating at Pat and Mick’s when I was a kid ! That great cornmeal batter like a fish camp is supposed to have,This Place Is Awesome !
This was my first time visiting this establishment, and honestly I could nvr give Jay's a better review... The service was excellent and astonishing at the same time... The "Deviled Crab" was remarkable along with the Alaskan White... I was told the steak was cooked to order :) I would recommend this restaurant be given a chance... I will return myself
Ordered take out Brian Shaver took my order correctly and I picked it up without any problems! Food was amazing, my cat really liked the flounder!
