Great experience for a retirement party. Food tasty. Plethora of choices. We reserved a back room and we were allowed to socialize and visit without feeling we needed to rush out. Staff were friendly and responded quickly to needs of plates for dessert, extra drinks, etc. I have used BJ's before for large gatherings and will continue to use them, Lord willing.

This was my first visit to BJ's Country Buffet and I really enjoyed it. The food was good. The buffet offered a large variety of food and everything was freshly prepared today. BJ stopped by the table to make sure everyone was satisfied with their meal. I was so pleased with my experience I asked for a catering menu for a meeting I have coming up soon. It was good country cooking.

Service was excellent, the food however was not impressive. We went on Saturday at lunch and were the first ones in. My parents enjoyed the fried chicken, my sis the collard greens, and whoever had the peach cobbler enjoyed it. Mac & cheese had a whangy taste, maybe cream cheese or sour cream added?- not for me. Rice & gravy were bland as well as black eyed peas. Butter beans were tasty, but the ones on top of serving dish were dry, making me wonder how long they'd sat out - maybe as long as the corn on the cob bc the kernels of corn were so dry they didn't even touch each other on any side. I don't believe in waste, but I sure wouldn't serve dried-up food to someone. The fried shrimp was ok, but I was not interested in the fried fish, which was a fileted out fish skeleton that had been battered and fried. Nice people from the moment we walked in, but no, thanks on the food. I'd rather spend my $17 somewhere else.

Food for Sunday lunch was awful! Staff needs to do their job. No service. No one finished their plates nor went back.. BJ must have sold the place. We won't be back! Over 106.00!!!

People are kind of rude and it isn't a buffet it's more of a cafeteria. They have hardware cloth over the food and you walk down the line while some rude old lady barks questions at you about what you want. The lady at the register was nice though and the cake was good. It felt a lot more like prison than the "dinner at grandma's house" vibe they're going for.
Edit: Just went went back for a second try. Even stronger prison vibes this go round. The man behind the counter barked "how can I help ya ma'am" loud and aggressively at my wife about 40 times rather than a simple "okay and what's next" or something else. The lady at the register said a server had to make our drinks so we asked the server and he said the lady at the register would get it. Get to the register and a female yells in a randy savage voice "FRANCIS I NEED A PEPSI TO GO OOOHHHHH YEEEEAAAAAHH!" Turns out Francis is the only nice one in the joint.
