Jab's Bbq

This place is a hidden gem. Everything about this place deserves 5 stars. When you first walk it you immediately noticed the southern charm and welcoming smiles. The menu is rather simple but the food is amazing. I decided to grab the pick 2 (1/2 rib and brisket chopped) Mac n cheese and collards. The meat was jam packed with flavor and the sides were delicious. $12.99 is a fabulous price.. the service was wonderful. Our server was very nice and helpful. I strongly recommend this place.

Jabs is a great new BBQ restaurant in Albany! I had the sliced brisket and it was outstanding! I had Mac n cheese as a side and it was cheesy and delicious. I also had the baked beans as a side. They were equally delicious. Great flavor! Their salad bar has a very good selection of toppings. Overall I was very impressed with the restaurant and the environment. I look forward to going back on my next visit to Albany.

In town for Easter and my birthday. Sister said great place let's go there. So family loaded up and off we went. Real friendly good service. Food was the reason for 2 stars. We did come in a little late and I just feel like there was maybe 1 cook working. The warmest thing in my plate was the Texas toast. M&c, cold fried okra, cold, ground up pulled pork(?) Cold. This place has the rep. for being really good. So maybe it was just that day. So I will try 1 more time but right now 2 stars.

This is great BBQ with a small, comfortable dining area. The salad bar is smaller than most competitors but the meat was very good. The Georgia mustard sauce was my favorite and went very well with the sweet potato and pulled chicken. I think this is the same people that did Meat Slingers and is taking their cooking style to a sit down environment. It was a very southern experience.

While only dining here one time for lunch, initial impressions are very good. Brisket was awesome! Sauce selection was very good too, although you have to ask for the hot bbq flavor, its not normally available on the table. Sides were good too, corn on the cob has an awesome seasoning on it. Sweet tea, the real test for any southern restaurant was nice and fresh. Prices were within normal ranges. I was kinda concerned, as the place was not very crowded at lunchtime, Maybe it's just Albany's weird habits showing through, because it should have been crowded because it was darn good bbq. All in all, probably deserved 5 stars, will update after my return visit. Albany has been lacking a really good local bbq spot for a while, so give em a try!
