Very nice place for Albany. The wait staff were really good, the atmosphere was good, the prices were better than expected. The food was really good. I had Hanger steak which was super tender - seriously and cooked to a rare perfection. I sinned and had Blueberry Layer cake the devil himself must have made. A night of pleasure has me seeking forgiveness from the Keto god's.

Good food, but pretentious. I expect to pay a fine price for fine dining; however, HC’s is not following through on their part. First, the water had a “taste” to it, rendering it undrinkable, and when our wine arrived, both glasses were served with wine spilt on the lower parts. After we were served bread rolls, we asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar. They eventually arrived... in plastic cups one would expect to find ketchup from a fast food restaurant. Both of us ordered the filet mignon. When we were asked about salad or side with our meal , I asked what it included. Answer: nothing! So ordering a filet mignon means just that. I ordered a side of steamed asparagus (at $6). The plate arrived with a six-ounce filet and FOUR stalks of asparagus. I was hoping this would be a nice experience of fine dining, but the only thing fine were the prices. The pictures tell the rest of the story.

Way over priced! Waitress was great in the begging, but became sour at the end. Tried to get change to leave her a tip n she only gave me a 20 back. So I had on me 2 dollars! She filled my husbands tea, but didnt even ask me if I wanted anything.

No wait time, service was on point, and by far the Ribeye was the best I've had in a while.

I must say every time I have visited I enjoyed the service and atmosphere. Their wine selection is great. The owner is a popular local, I am guessing he's the reason there are so many 5 star reviews. Now let's get to the heart of the matter the food. Their cook needs training, especially if they plan to continue to charge over $30 a steak. Each and every visit my steak was not cooked evenly or to the proper temperature. I have had dinner there over 10 times. Mentioned to the waiter my last visit my steak was not cooked properly. This visit also my last visit the waiter brought out a misshaped filet mignon and said the chef apologized for problem with my last visit. Some apology the alleged filet was loaded with gristle and felt like I was cutting through rubber bands. That was enough for me, the chef aka cook obviously lacked the skill and professionalism to cook a proper steak and decided to retaliate rather than impress me with a professional skill set of a proper chef.👩🍳 The sides dishes are always greasy and salty. I also asked the waiter what they were pairing with the steak I ordered and he told me a baked potato. He was so sweet and serious. 🥂🍷I might go back there to socialize if friends insist but they won't be getting any more of my money.

Great place to take the wife for a nice dining experience. Food and service were both excellent. They were even able to cook my steak Pittsburgh style correctly even though it is not mentioned on their menu! (The only drawback is this place can be more pricey than other restaurants in Albany, but at least you get what you pay for.)
