Customer service skills sucks. I was on the phone for about 15 minutes putting in a simple order. Arrived, paid for my food and than was told I had to pay more money. The lady handed me my bag to put my own stuff in it. The food was alright but the customer service wasn't.....

On April 30, I was on a road trip visiting Albany with a friend for the first time when we walked in here. The reception and service we recieved here was horrible. The restaurant literally had no one in there but the older man who worked there took his time to answer phone calls without acknowledging us. A lady eventually walked in and did her best to attend to us and apologized on behalf of the man. His attitude sucked and for almost one hour we spent there, he was on the phone, never for once acknowledging other costumers who came in after us. The tables were dirty too and they refused to wipe them down.
We spent over a hundred dollars here but the meal was horrible. The rasta pasta I ordered was soggy and a sharp contrast to any rasta pasta I have had before. Sorrel tasted awful too. We could barely eat half our meals and the rest went in the trash.
I do not recommend this restaurant, not only because of the lack of service but also for their their bad food.
Note: all the good reviews about food here are from >2yrs ago. They must be doing something wrong lately.

That older guy is the worst thing to happen to this restaurant. His attitude and work ethic is horrible. Also can you please remove your store from Door Dash, the older guy cancels every order and it inconvenient to customers. Also, if you are ordering from here stay away from the pasta and the chicken. The new staff can’t cook Rasta pasta or chicken, they no longer have their good cooks.

Over an hour later, the food finally arrived.
Two orders of Rasta pasta. One chicken, one shrimp. They had me pick two sides when I ordered, but failed to deliver any of them. I honestly don't understand how some restaurants care so little about what they serve to their customers. Mushy pasta, maybe two pieces of chicken in the whole dish... Got through about 20% of it before I tossed the rest in the trash. $43 plus tip. Do yourself a favor and order from somewhere else

These are 3 different bottles of sorrel. There were a total of 6 in the refrigerator and they all had mold on the external and/or internal. I haven’t been here in a while. Only came because the Jamaican restaurant on Quail and Washington was closed and I’m visiting for the day. If you’re looking for island food, I strongly recommend somewhere else. This place is filthy!

If you are ever looking for some good Jamaican food and you are in the Capital District try hotspot their food here is very good and many different items to try from and at days throughout the week they have specials that the chef has prepared himself I like it because they are friendly and the food is close to home they have things that I cannot find another restaurants like rasta pasta like jerk chicken fried rice and many more dishes and the thing I like the most about the restaurant is it's made fresh daily they also cater to your every need

Great service and clean restrooms. Pictured is the curry goat w/ rice and peas and cabbage. The food was subpar. The curry goat was very bland, not what I would expect from an authentic Jamaican restaurant. Perhaps, I ordered the wrong item or came at the wrong time. I plan to revisit to try a different dish.

I bought Jerk Chicken with rice and peas. It was the most blend food ever and so spicy for no reason. It had no taste beside the spice.
