I started eating here 10yrs ago when my child was in PICU on a recommendation from a nurse. I was AMAZED at the flavor that came from this tiny restaurant! We have continued to eat here when we come to Albany and look forward to the food.
I have read most of these mixed reviews, depending on "you", some will matter, some will not.
We have only ever gotten food for takeout, not delivery. Given the limited space, takeout is a good option. They do not have a/c and it is HOT in the summer! The restaurant itself is not necessarily as clean as some might like... it's kind of a hole in the wall (I don't see a lot of this type of restaurant that aren't). Some employees seem rude at times, possibly a cultural miscommunication?
My food has NEVER been bad, tasted bad, made me sick, etc, etc... 10yrs, no complaints. In fact, we order extra egg rolls every time and just yesterday we had THE BEST General Tsao's chicken and THE BEST Lo Mein we've ever had from there! I have had better pork fried rice, but only in NYC.

I've ordered from this place twice a month for the past 3 years. Food always arrives timely. It's not restaurant food..it's fast food. It always tastes good..and I've had them forget things in the past as others have said. I've had them on 3 occasions forget the sauce for sweet n sour chicken...every time they have came back with my sauce. Not sure if it's because I'm a regular or because I was polite. We are all human..a $50 order you may forget something once in a while. I ask nice to make my meal complete and they happily deliver again. Give them a try before you read all the bad reviews..keep in mind only those who have so so reviews take the time to make a review. The rest of us get our food eat and go to bed. I happened to come across the reviews while looking for the number and wanted to make it clear. If you want restaurant food..go to a restaurant. If not get either Chinese..burger King or mc donalds. I'd take this place any time any day.

I live 100 feet from this place. The lunch menu is very reasonable. Warning, It's summer there is no air conditioning, it is too vhot too stand inside for your order. Warning, their children work in the store, very young maybe 7 years old and longer. Check your change the boy makes mistakes. The doors are open all day so insects and rodents can come in.

I love this place! It's really nice to have a rouxpour with the people who make your food. Plus me and my husband order so much they know me by name, and when we get pick-up orders it feels like no wait cause Lee ; the owner , engages with us. They get the food to your belly fresh and hot.

This doesn't even deserve the one star I had to give to post the review, called them at 8:53 pm placed my order, was told it would be 30 minutes, fine I called again at 9:35 only to be told by the rude woman who answered the phone that I only placed my order 5 minutes ago then at 10 pm and was told it would be here in 5 min, 10:11 no answer, 10:12 no answer .... ordered food from Ocean Palace, went to pick it up within 20 min it was hot and fresh, get it home start eating and at 10:43pm I get a call saying food is here, I got work at 6 am they really took a little over 2 hours to make 3 meals! I sent it away,,,, now I'm going to bed, never order from here unless you have 2 hours to wait, I cant judge what the food is like since I never received it but service is horrible!!!!

First time ordering from this place and first time using the BeyondMenu app to order online. Both great experiences. App worked great. Food was ready at time it said. Food was good and it was inexpensive. People at the counter were polite, food was packed up and ready to move, they gave me plasticware and sauces... All good things, no complaints.

I wonder if this happened to anyone else. I ordered a combo platter and an extra egg roll via grub hub, the menu says the combo platter comes with an egg roll, except they didn't send the extra egg roll. This happened to me not once but twice! Didn't really care the first time, people make mistakes, but after the second time now I say, please include all items that customers pay for in their order. Twice now I paid for an egg roll not recieved, probably never going to go and demand a $3 refund or 2 egg rolls. I only hope someone will see this and realize they have been making mistakes. I doubt I'll ever order from China house again. I find it shameful something as small as a egg roll can ruin a restaurant's reputation, but when there's 20 Chinese restaurants in Albany, a simple mistake of forgetting an egg roll puts China house on the bottom of the list for me.

They suck!! They messed up my order and when I called to confront them they basically said oh well and left it at that. I ordered general tso, but I'm not too positive this is even chicken. I'd compare the texture to rubber. I can go on and on. Do what you will but they're horrible.
