I was looking forward to try something different for dinner and it was different but at best it was average. The food looked dull when I first saw it. I mean visually it was not appealing at all. The chicken and rice should have some greens or herbs with it to make it more appealing. The chicken was tender and the rice not so bad. The Fattah tasted good but the appeal was lacking. IMO please add some greens to your food to make it more colorful and appleaing.

Definitely go to this restaurant if you're in Albany and don't be fooled by the modest decor. Hands down, amazing food and hospitality. They start you off with lamb soup on the house and it is amazing , especially on a nice cold day. We got the lamb fahsa and the chicken agdah. The flavor profile of the lamb fahsa is bold and incredible. The lamb is tender , shredded and bubbling in the pot when they bring it to your table. It is served with the Yemeni tandoor bread which is lighter than Desi naan bread. They offer a side of tomato and chili paste if you want to spice things up. The chicken agdah had a mild flavor profile if you like that. The chicken was tender and falling off the bones and cooked with potatoes and okra! One dish is good for two people if you're not too hungry. The portions are extremely generous for what you pay. Finally, just get their regular black tea or if you are a milk tea person, get the adeni tea. The black tea is bottomless and amazing. The tea really seals the deal for me during the cold weather. You're missing out if you live in Albany and haven't visited this restaurant!!

Compact Yemen restaurant with delicious food. Highly recommend the lamb dishes. At the moment of the first bite of the lamb, I am jealous with my friend who lives nearby.

This rather simple looking restaurant holds a wonderful collection of food that is most certainly one of the best I've ever had! I travel alot, so I can attest that this is the real authentic middle eastern food! The meats are slow cooked that just comes off the bones! The price is extremely generous considering their food quality! You do not have to crave middle eastern dishes, if you like meat, it's a must go! This is my regular place now!

Awesome, awesome place! My wife and I tried it for the first time and I'm shocked we hadn't come sooner. Food was fresh, H O T (temperature-wise) and everything was just delicious. Great service and prices too. Highly highly recommend!

Have been here multiple times with different friends. Everyone loves their lamb fahsa and bread a lot! Their semi-sweet herbal tea and flavorful turmeric rice are also great. Affordable!

The most authentic middle eastern food in capital region. Unbelievably delicious Anyone who want to try middle eastern food , or anyone want to try something more legit than American made halal food ( gyro , chicken over rice - it’s like American Chinese food ). This is the place. The price is little on the higher side but food taste super delicious. I tried the chicken biriyani ( I tried many Indian Biriyanis before ) there is unique taste in it. Although it’s plain , there is no hard boiled eggs or friend onions in their version of biriyani. I tried Sheba tray for 2 , it is huge , I mean it’s a lot of food for 2 people . Even thought I’m not really into lamb meat , I thought the lamb was more tastier than chicken. The best thing about this place is their rice . It was soft boiled and taste really good. I also tried their mandi chicken and lamb Haneeth. Out of all these dishes lamb haneeth was my favorite. A must try place . Highly recommended.
