My first ever experience with Ethiopian food. I have never been fan of food with a mushy texture. However after looking at some pics of their food, my friend and I decided to give it a try. After ordering some popular items from their menu our food arrived. Every item was fresh and flavorful, and what made it even more interesting is that I had to use my hands to eat which I rarely do. We spent about $50 and we got more food than we can ever finish in one meal. Our to go box was enough for two more meals for my friend. All in all, it was a great first time experience, and I will definitely come back again. I only wish they would have told us that we have ordered way too much food for 2.

The perfect place to share an interactive meal with close friends or family. Plus, since everyone will have to use both hands no one will be on their phone ;-) We ordered two samplers and we're greeted with an abundance of spice and flavor. The sponge bread makes it easy to find and consume any tasty bit of food. And you must pair your meal with some honey wine...it wouldn't be proper without! A real treasure in the heart of Alameda!

This place is amazing and the staff Yordanos is super friendly. First time we tried the Ethiopian food (meat samplier) and the food just melt in our mouth. The meat are cooked slowly (simmer) and the taste is really fabulous. Highly recommended!!!

डिलिशस delicious authentic Ethiopian food. Casual environment, really lovely staff. Food is made to order so don’t rush, patience brings a perfect dish. Great for groups who enjoy sharing, or couples. Always satisfied, and often with some left over to bring home.

I've been dining here for years and the food and service are always top notch. Lots of incredibly flavorful dishes. This is one of the top places on my list of dining options in Alameda. It's a great spot for larger groups or small groups. I've brought several guests to try Injera and all have had pleasant experiences. This is an easy place for vegans and meat eaters to enjoy since there are variety of menu options for both. My favorite is the silssi (it's super flavorful and a little spicy) with either eggplant or tofu, although I recommend a sampler platter for those new to Injera (they have serving sizes for 1, 2, or 4 people). They make a lovely honey wine in house that I love. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount of the food offered. The staff are consistently welcoming, warm, and attentive. I recently went during a busy dinner hour with a close friend I hadn't seen in a while and we spent quite a long time catching up. We got only smiles and polite service, and we never felt rushed to wrap up our meal even when we were clearly finished eating and were just enjoying more conversation. I highly recommend Injera to anyone wanting a pleasant dining experience with flavorful, comforting food.

I went here for the first time and the ambiance was amazing. Very spacious and awesome owners. I usually go to Berkeley but I live in Alameda and I never knew they had Ethiopian food in the area. I will definitely be back and when I visit Cali. Hands down best vegan food!
