Wholly Joe Coffee

Great place to de-stress. When you walk in you just relax. Wonderful art and two levels. The downstairs is like being in your living room with live music. The chilli was phenomenal just the right amount of heat. The pastries are to die for. With being on such a busy street it is surprisingly quiet inside.

Live right across the street going to the university here in Akron. I DID NOT KNOW THIS PLACE WAS HERE!! Have been here twice now and no disappointments! They bake their own bagels and baked goods, have breakfast and lunch all day. I had the Jalapeno Veggie Bagel first then on my second visit had a meat lovers flat bread pizza. The coffee is fantastic and they roast it right in the shop. The staff is super friendly, service is great and they have two floors of seating. I especially liked the upstairs where I was able to print some things out for class last semester. Books, board games and good times.

I go to Wholly Joe's every Thursday before a support group I attend, and let me tell you this place is just as theraputic as the group itself! The coffee and food is great, the staff is super friendly, and they have a place upstairs where you can go hang out and play games. Both the upstairs and downstairs are very clean and have neat decorations and a chill ambience. If you're looking for a place with a latte to offer, I highly recommend this one.

Stopped in to chill and get a cup of coffee, and this place is awesome! They regularly put on events featuring local artists and musicians, the staff is all really cool, and the coffee is absolutely fantastic! The pour over was maybe the best cup of coffee I've ever had. Didn't get any food but I saw someone else getting some and it looked amazing. The owner is very nice and personable. Definitely stop in and give this place your business.

This is it, this is the coffee shop that Akron has needed for so long! Great atmosphere, comfortable and cozy space. The owner is completely amiable and clearly this is his passion. Coffee is perfectly brewed. In the downstairs area, where they host local musicians [I haven't yet gotten to be there for this], there's a great collection of vinyl records to play, tons of books to read, and artwork all over the place. Really a perfect space for this -- so glad that I found it!

This is a fairly new place in Akron. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised at how it is set up. First of all, there isn't really a lot to park in. But Akron has street parking and garages and is a walkable city. Walking in, you have to go though a hallway behind the Blue Botique or enter doors and go down stairs on the other side of the building. They have their coffee drinks posted with a ton of syrups available. They also serve food, but the menu is on the counter and fairly vague. I ended up getting a bagel and latte. The coffee was good, and the bagels are homemade and delicious. I did have to toast my own bagel because they just wanted to be accommodating and make sure I liked the "toastiness" of it. This place gives off a very family feel and is laid back and super accommodating. The staff was very nice and there were plenty of places to sit, and even plugs to sit and work on a computer. I liked this place, but it still seems a little unorganized and new, trying to get into the groove of it.
